Summary/Abstract: The multiple turns in the contemporary history of music, the pessimistic prophecies regarding “music’s death”, as well as the digital technologies, which increasingly determine the production and the consumption of music, confront us with the problem of the current state of music as an art form, respectively with the existential problem of our current relationship with music. This field of problems was outlined by the editor to the contributors to this issue in the form of the simpler question: “how long does the history of music go on for you personally?”, and took the form of a survey on the role of contemporary music in the lives of creative people from different fields of art.
