Summary/Abstract: Nowadays terrorism is one of the most important security threats for the world. However, it is not true that this became immediately visible in the post-Cold War era. Terrorism has been used for centuries as a dirty tool of politics and will continue to do so in future. At this point it must be stressed that the relatively weak groups willing to change the socio-economic order of a state, use terror as a practical tool of political transformation. According to the revolutionary concept, terrorism has been considered as a practical tool not only to seize power by violence, but also to maintain the seized power. Communist ideology within this context will give an effort to conceptualize the cause-means relation between the concept of revolution and terrorism. In this context, the aim of this study is to indicate the triadic relations between ideology, revolution and terrorism concepts through the ideology of communism and the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. This effort aimed at better understanding of the origins of the revolutionary terrorism that will exist in present time and in the future as well. Moreover, it will contribute to the creation of an intellectual infrastructure for curbing these security threats.
