Summary/Abstract: From the nineteenth century until today, energy security was highlighted very strongly as a crucial aspect of national, regional and global security. European Union being a great energy consuming force, continues to occupy a very fragile global position. Even if the EU adopted an energy policy adapted to the new demands by permanently adaptating to the newest geopolitical, geoeconomic and geostrategic demands in the purpose of maintaning the energy at accessible prices, promoting energy efficiency and the environmental protection, the member states failed to reach a common ground. And that is due to their own agenda in the energy policy and the delaying of implementation of plans and specific strategies to ensure the consuming mass the necessary energy demand. This lack of solidarity is the main cause for forfeiture of the member states of the European Union in the face of Russia and her allies.
