Summary/Abstract: Between Drift and Contradiction. A Possible Application Hirschman Theory by the Example of Romania. Albert Hirschman theory on exit and voice as reactions in an family, organisation or state was first formulated on 1970 and some years after was developed. This theory has many applications, especially of economic and political nature. With the transformation process in the Eastern Europe there were discovered new application fields for Hirschman`s theory. This article do not only present the exit and voice theory, but also its application fields. One of the most important is the phenomenon of the so called brain drain and the contemporary problem of emigration from Eastern Europe with respect to the Romanian situation.
