Summary/Abstract: The Minerva Institute of Literature an Typography was the most important newspaper, book and textbook publishing house of Transylvania, one of the most important community organizations of the Hungarians living in Romania, which operated in Kolozsvár/Cluj between 1920 and 1948. It meaningfully endorsed the growth of Hungarian education, press, literature, science and arts. Its founders conceived it as the keystone of information, cultivation and self-organization of the Transylvanian Hungarians, as an institution that acts in behalf of the preservation, development, cultivation of selfidentity of the community, but also as a bridge to other ethnic communities of the city and of the region. The study deals with the main facts and aspects of the re-establishment of this important Transylvanian Hungarian community institution in 1992, its development and activity during the past more than twenty-five years, as well as the struggle for the recovery of its property confiscated by the communist regime.
