Summary/Abstract: The role of tourism in the national economy has the aim to promote the country, rather than creation of an economic effect. However, the development of this area is a strategic element for the Republic of Moldova. The expected impact of the two national strategies on tourism is barely felt. The most developed forms of tourism remain for the Republic of Moldova those with a millenary tradition and the prospects for their development are becoming more successful and appreciated by the foreign tourists. In the article, the authors present the characteristic of the three forms: rural tourism, wine and vine tourism and balneary tourism for which the Republic of Moldova is requested by the tourists.
