Summary/Abstract: Regional identity (along with the local one) undoubtedly seems to be one of the most important and the most common variants of social‑cultural identification that guarantees one the feelings of closeness, being in a community, kinship and affinity. Religious‑sacral heritage – broadly interpreted – should unquestionably be included in the group of the factors that build this kind of identity, the group that is countless and exceptionally diverse.The primary aim of the article, which is the result of the inquiry under takenas part of the extensive, in‑depth research on the identity of the contemporary citizens of Krajna, the region in North‑WestPoland, at the borderland of two macroregions: Wielkopolska [Greater Poland] and Pomorze [Pomerania], is to define what role this category plays in the process of building the regional identification of the people of Krajna, as well as to point out the elements that contribute to this inheritance and together show some identity‑building potential
