Summary/Abstract: The recent national regulation of palliative services provides the framework for the deployment of these services. The aim of palliative services is to improve the quality of life of the patient on his/her way to the inevitable, in order to preserve his dignity and to reduce his suffering. This article unfolds the categories of healthcare providers whose activity can also include the provision of palliative services: the family medicine practice, the specialized outpatient care, the hospice and the hospital. The paper also correlates the work of these providers with the regulation on the palliative care levels and analyzes the principles applicable to palliative care. The conclusion of the analysis is that, under the terms of the new regulation, the requirements of the incurable patient should be better met, and reduced suffering and maintenance of the quality of life should be easier to achieve in the conditions of the new regulation in the field.
