Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with some questions that are closely related to the problem of backward causation according to which an effect precedes its cause in time. It focuses on two main points: Firstly, the paper shows that the crucial argument against backward causation is underlied by certain assumptions that are hard to reject. Secondly, the explanatory power of backward causation is discussed in the paper.
