Summary/Abstract: Being one of the contemporary Turkish composers, Turgay Erdener created a Turkish Concerto embodying contemporary effects as he composed Clarinet Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in 1995. The first movement of this composition, which was composed in three movements, was composed in sonata form and the other two movements were composed in rondo form. The development together with the execution of the reprise in the first movement, and the use of rondo rather than the classical form in the second and third movements, elevate the dramaturgy of this concerto to a tragedy. Overall analysis of this composition reveals it as a contemporary and epic Turkish concerto.
