Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the present paper is to examine whether or not the translators detected the presence of verbal irony in the source text by interpreting hyperbole and antiphrasis as signals of verbal irony. Consequently, we aim to determine whether the ironic ambiguity is captured in the target text by tansfering hyperbole and antiphrasis as core elements of verbal irony.
