Summary/Abstract: This research provides the most important elements of human resources management that we can apply in public and private sector. The managers can deal with HR practices in a different perspective in the public and in the private sector. This theory has been expressed since 1980s when the distinction between the terms public and private has been made (Becker and Connor, 2005). This perspective is because public employees have different profiles, and appear to have different priorities and expectations at work comparing with the private employees. The efficiency in an organization is directly depending on human resources performance. Therefore, this article reviews and analyses the publications from the last decade in order to characterise both sectors: public and private and to observe the good practices that can be transferred from the private sector to the public one to improve its activity.
