Summary/Abstract: Ontological concepts, associated with objects of the surrounding reality, appear as a basis in the conceptual model of the world. The special place among them is occupied by zoo concepts as primary cognitive structures, which represent fragments of the real world. Despite considerable interest in phraseology with zoo component and zoo concepts the zoomorphic model is still in the shadow. This paper is devoted to examining zoomorphic mythological model as a cognitive mechanism in language conceptualization of reality and of functioning of the simulated knowledge in modern linguistic and cultural situation. The research is based on the concept cock on the material of Russian phraseology and metaphorology as a language reflection of the activity of cognitive models in the aspect of creating new meanings.
