Being historically a multinational country Russia has become a home for a great number of minorities including Roma people who used to live here hundreds years. The design of effective educational policy for Roma children is a vital question for the regions where these children are concentrated. The paper deals with the analysis and some peculiarities of Roma children education in Vol-gograd region and shares the experience of state secondary school №11 (Mikhailovka) every fifth student of which is Roma. The school managed to create rather favourable atmosphere as well as attractive programmes for education and upbringing of Roma children though it faces the serous actual problem of their dropping out of school.
