Literature – object of faith?

Summary/Abstract: The author proves that contemporary literary theory (especially its British current) borrows a lot from the field of postsecularism. Thanks to theological notions literary theory can thus reclaim the object of its study that was appropriated by culture theory, pragmatism and others. According to the author, theological associations are triggered by the so-called pleasure of the text - discovering the evidence of recurring “readings of bliss”, which literary theorists can value more than any rational assertion of existence of literature.
