Summary/Abstract: The paper looks into the prosaic work written by Jozef Ignác Bajza, the writer from the Age of Reason, who had a leading role in the cultural life of Slovakia and a leading role on to establish new Slovak language and new genre (novel, epigram and enigma in Slovak language). The chosen objects of research, the enigmas, belong to his work called „Veselé príbehy a výroky“ (Funny stories and sayings) published in 1795. The author of this paper compares Bajza´s enigmas with Fánly´s enigmas published in book called „Piľní domajší a poľní hospodár“ (Diligent domestic and field farmer) in 1800 and Záturecký´s enigmas called „Slovenské hádanky“ (Slovak enigmas) published in 1894, that have the same or similar parts.
