Summary/Abstract: Turkish music and Western music are compared in terms of the series, tonality and rhythmic structures. Both music have some differences as well as some similarities in their series, tonality and rhythmic structures. To reveal these differences and similarities, methods of comparison and documentary analysis are employed in this paper. The aim is to introduce their similar and different aspects by examining the concepts of series, tonality and rhythm in the framework of the Turkish and Western music theories.
