Summary/Abstract: Nikolas Rose states that doctors have “lost the monopoly of the diagnostic gaze”, and that “the maintenance of the healthy body has become central to the self management of many individuals…” (Rose, p.10-11).This paper, will take a brief look at the way that this shift has occurred in relation to medical websites and the way that these are used and taken up by individuals, specifically looking at the case of diabetes.
