Summary/Abstract: No economy can exist or function normally in the absence of transports, be them of persons or goods, the latter being the basis for the production and sale of goods or services. Everyday experience shows that freight transport, especially road transport, is a field that is both highly exciting and demanding, with professionals involved in this sector often confronted with situations requiring the presence of the legal counsel or lawyer. Knowing closely the regulations in the field of road freight contracts of carriage is a necessity in order to overcome the obstacles that may arise in practice, starting from the conclusion of the contract of carriage and ending with its proper performance. This article supports all persons involved in the road freight transport business (carriers, shipping companies, consignors, consignees etc.), presenting the minimal regulatory framework that they should be familiar with and some of the situations encountered in practice, which they could have to face, along with the solutions proposed by us
