Summary/Abstract: The Vojvodina region is Europe in a nutshell – today, there are officially living 26 nations with their own languages, customs, traditions and an overall common cultural heritage in the autonomous Serbian province. The multicultural environment grew heavily during the 18th and 19th century due to wartime and colonialist politics. Bela Crkva as an example of a typical Vojvodian city shows, how a multicultural and multilingual society developed and sustained throughout the past 200 years.
