Summary/Abstract: In the assessments in tezkires about the literary art that the dewan poets used, there is some expressions like “literary arts, fine arts” and it is not mentioned which literary art is meant. Some trails show that there is meant literary arts like pun, simile, metaphor, îhâm, tevriye but it is not certain. The tezkire authors made their assessments in dream, wit, skill, magic, unique, greatness criteria rather than literary arts. In this assessments it is thought that literary arts consist only of them and sometimes there is only called pun as literary art. Because of that the Ottoman poets and authors, from time to time, classified and examined the literary arts by witing tractates of which tittles are teşbîhât, tecnîsât, mecâzât. Books, literary arts, classical rhetoric is already going through the root metaphor, simile, and in a way that it becomes the most important branch of the leaves tecnis are based on the sound and harmony. One scholar poet who wrote work about this topic is Halimi who well-known with Bahr al-garâib Persian-Turkish dictionary. In his “Hâzihi risâletün fîbeyâni’t-tecnîsât ve’t-teşbîhât ve’l-mecâzât” entitled tractate, pun, simile and metaphor bases are explained with turkish examples. The author shortly mentioned about this subjects in his article’s commentary, but in this tractate, he explained the topics more detailed. It takes attention it is handled very different from the terms handled with the known definition and classifications.
