New trends in the treatment of erectile dysfunction

Summary/Abstract: Mechanism of erection depends on various factors – the neuroanatomical, neurophysiological, hemodynamic, hormonal and psychological. It is the multistage process. Despite of the significant progress the ideal treatment for erectile dysfunction have not been developed yet. In recent years, radon baths are more and more popular. Radon mainly influences the increased secretion of sex hormones and increased blood flow through organs, leading to the improvement of their functions. Recent reports suggest that hydrogen sulfide, known mostly for its toxic properties, plays an important role in erectile function.
