Summary/Abstract: Creativity is often associated in the literature with the terms such as discovery, imagination, innovation or invention. The present article reflects on the creative learning and particularly in the context of foreign language learning. Being creative implies producing something new which is adapted to the situation and the teacher’s requirements, while using own knowledge, experiences and imagination. During speaking, pupils move through different learning stages such as memorizing, reproducing expressions after models, improvising or addressing other pupils spontaneously. Using an example of the teaching practice (English lesson, primary school, Geneva), the present contribution reflects on these different stages and the questions of creativity.
