Summary/Abstract: The author has ascertained the social and economic basis for the current stage of escalation of social contradictions. Accumulation of capital stipulates existence of social and economic controversies. In the process of production, capital falls into two functional and structural forms: capital as a means and capital as a subject. The value of capital as a means is appropriated by a capitalist and constantly increases. The value of capital as a subject, which is appropriated by employees, increases at a slower rate. This leads to a gap between revenues and wealth of capitalists and employees. This contradiction is escalated in the process of financization and globalization.
