Summary/Abstract: After the ECtHR Torreggiani judgment, Italy adopted several measures in order to improve detention conditions. The aim of this paper is to analyse the principal measures adopted by Italy, pointing out the shortcomings that weaken their impact, thereby preventing the Italian compliance with regional standards.
