WAR STRATEGIES USED DURING SIEGE IN NEW ASSYRIAN PERIOD

Summary/Abstract: More than one war strategy was used during the new Assyrian period. The geographical structure of the region to be seized in these strategies has an important role. Especially engineers and experts in the army carried out road construction and other engineering activities before the siege began. At the base of the Assyrian war strategy is the desire of the army to seize the desired region or city without raining the war, ie without giving too much military and economic casualties. For this reason, the Assyrian reliefs and Reliefs and nails written sources dating to the new Assyrian period are filled with examples showing that a large number of psychological methods of warfare are used.
