Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of the subjects that are wondered in Ottoman history, the harem and the life styles of the lady sultans comes.Some western writers gave information about as if they had seen it, even if they did not see the harem. Although some of the descriptions made by Western writers have’t reflected the facts, some ambassador’s wives, such as Lady Montague, or physicians such as Pedro de Urdemalas have given correct information about the lady sultans.After giving brief information on the general lives of the lady sultans, detailed information will be given that based on the records of the terraces about the ornament of the three lady sultans who lived in the late 18th century in the early 17th century.The unknown jewelries have been tried to be determined by using the heritage records of Muazzez Sultan, the wife of Sultan Ibrahim, IV. Murad's grandson, Fatma Hanım Sultan and III. Ahmed's daughter, Ümmügülsüm Sultan. Each of the three lady sultans’s heritage has a lot of processed gold and silver jewelry.The precence of diamonds, rubies, emeralds and precious stones such as la'l have been attracting attention.. By processing,these precious stones are used on bracelets, belts, earrings, crests and other ornaments. In addition, the weight and value of the jewelries have been tried to be recorded.
