Summary/Abstract: The development and stability of financial markets is a precondition for the development of each national economy. Considering the fact that financial markets have been largely internationalized, there is more opportunity for using the foreign capital; on the other hand, it may bring about uncertainty which may over flow from one financial market into another. The financial market essentially involves the processes of lending money either by means of conventional banking channels or by trading in financial instruments. The transfer of money may be exercised in different segments of the financial market. The national legislations use various legal terms to designate certain organizational parts of the financial market. Thus, as compared to the former legislaton on this matter, the new Capital Market Act of the Republic of Serbia introduces some new terminology for certain financial instrument markets.
