The EU General Data Protection Regulation. Practical applications in the field of labor law

Summary/Abstract: Abstract : Starting with May 25, 2018, Regulation 679/2016 came into force, also called the Regulation on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. This Regulation, which replaces the previous applicable directive, namely Directive no.95/46, taking over from its operating principles, brings significant novelties in terms of the general framework on the personal data protection, explaining and detailing many of the mandarory rules în this field. Having as goal to create a common framework at European Union level, Regulation no.679/2016 provides the necessary clarifications against a background of galloping technological developments and accelerated growth of cross borders personal data flows. The article presents some aplications of this Regulation in the field of labour law.
