Summary/Abstract: This study examines the morality problems in Sunnite Islam in a perspective na- med as theological archeology. Accordingly, some general assumptions are as follows: The moral vision of Quran was seized and lost it’s influence in time. Theological construction of the main principles of Isla mor usul led to the moral declining. Fatalism is a serious threat in moral terms. The controversies about the problem of identity in the context of defining the faith and the issue of relationship between faith and good deeds have moral consequences. The moral dimension in Islamic theology has been left in the name of reason and the Kalam becomes an abstract field. The ethics defined by good deeds was substituded by an ascetic ethics. After examining these assumptions the study interrogates the possibilities about religion and moral in a secular world.
