Summary/Abstract: From the point of view of a citizen, the local government in Poland implements a number of important public duties. One of managements functions in the local scale a control and a supervision are public affairs. Effective monitoring and strong control is a matter not only of good governance but also of actions that protect the interest of residents of the local community. Coherent and comprehensive inspection and surveillance activities are part of the system of functioning of local government as a whole. The content of this article is to outline the issues rarely undertaken in the economic analysis.
