Summary/Abstract: Currently, Romania is a state of law, a democratic and social state, in which all citizens benefit from rights and freedoms established by Constitution or by other laws, but obeying the obligations provided by these as well, being equal before the law and the public authorities, without privileges and discriminations. Respecting the Constitution, its supremacy and laws is compulsory, therefore Romanian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons shall exercise their rights and freedoms bona fide, in a way that does not violate the rights and freedoms of others. Respecting human rights and human dignity is the foundation of freedom, justice and world peace. Human rights issues are one of the central themes discussed by public opinion both domestically and internationally.
