Summary/Abstract: The right to life and the integrity of the person has been known forever, but the regulations by which it was defended differed from one country to another, from one people to another. As human rights have gone beyond national constitutions and national legal orders, and globally projected, human rights have come to terms with new dimensions. This also applies to people's right to life and integrity, which has been recognized and substantiated by remarkable documents adopted at European and global level.
