Summary/Abstract: The three basic mythical models discussed in this paper could be named after the content of several myths: expulsion from Paradise or the Valley of Tears, Demeter and Persephone or Christ’s Resurrection, and The Golden Age/Atlantis or The Flood. Although Ćopic starts from the mimetic level of narration, one should not disregard the symbolic meanings and archetype structure of the motives and inter-motive links. Horses, cattle and wheat, an inseparable part of the main hero’s everyday life, are at the same time the totems o f the presented reality, while horses, fairies and wolves are the saintly attributes of the main protagonist. The paper also studied the symbolic meanings of the motives of space and time, and through them the mythical link with what they represent, with God, Nature and one’s self.
