EU ENLARGEMENT PROCESS – ESSENTIALS AND SPECIFICS

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses some essential characteristics and specifics of the process of the enlargement of the Union, particularly the Eastern enlargement. Enlargement is treated as a process immanent to EU development, and parallel to the deepening process. Under EU Law, Association agreements are neither a condition, not a promise for accession, but, in reality, as a flexible instrument, have become an essential element of the process of rapprochement.
