ON THE ATTITUDE TOWARD THE DISCOURSE OF A PROSE WORK

Summary/Abstract: Author is starting from the thesis that the S. Selenic’s novel Očevi i oci presents almost ideal substance in the linguistic analysis of a language speaker’s relation with the realized language expression. The thesis includes the relation of speakers who appear in the form of writer’s heroes, who as narrators, naturally, most frequently do not coincide with the writer himself, what is the most usual case in the novel, as well as the writer himself, when — in the novel — he himself appears as the narrator. With regard to this, author is presenting his own linguistic and philological attitudes toward the analysis of language material of the Selenic’s novel, which was the subject of his detailed research work.
