Summary/Abstract: Vrnjačka Banja (spa) is one of the most visited balneological centers in Serbia. Vrnjačka Banja has a long tradition considering its material traces from the Roman time. The first chemical analysis of medicinal water was done in 1835. Then its basic properties significant for medicine were defined. Since then till nowadays Vrnjačka Banja is the first one between other spas in Serbia considering the number of visitors. There were 163.000 tourists (1985) and 1.415.00 overnight stays (1986). These data about record values were never realized later on.
