SLOBODAN JOVANOVIĆ ABOUT FILIP VIŠNJIĆ AND VUK KARADŽIĆ

Summary/Abstract: The text is about constituting modern Serbian historiography where Filip Višnjic, Vuk Karadžic and Slobodan Jovanovic play an important role. In his essays on his predecessors Jovanovic analyses the relation towards historical facts that Višnjic transposes into a poetic artefact and Vuk into literary historical prose. It will show that Vuk’s and Jovanovic’s literary technique can be related on several levels: that of genre, thematic interests, perceptiveness, ability to separate the relevant from the irrelevant, vivaciousness, dynamism and dramaticism, etc.
