Summary/Abstract: The understanding of Abstract Art, dominant in 1950s in Turkey has undergone a transformation (change-shift) as a result of political and cultural reasons (factors) and drawings bearing the characteristics of Turkish-Islamic synthesis have started to appear. In such an artistic environment Naïve Art, which gained popularity with (discovery of) Hüseyin Yüce’s paintings, was based on a different understanding as opposed to the art movements which are traditionally formed by the principle of denial of one another. This study aims to make an evaluation of artistic tendencies, understandings and qualities of works of Turkish naïve artists Hüseyin Yüce, Fahir Aksoy and Fatma Eye by referring to their life stories.
