Summary/Abstract: The daily use of multimedia brings a number of advantages and threats, especially for the development of school-age children, who more and more frequently move their real life to the virtual world. Hence, the aim of the research was to determine the importance of telephones and computers for children. The research was conducted among pupils from Class III and IV in two primary schools in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. The results of the research indicate the need to carry out preventive actions in the field of preventing cyber-dependences, with particular emphasis on the function of family relationships in the process of shaping the proper development of children.
