Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the question of identity in the context of Judita Šalgo’s prose texts. Judita Salgo (1941-1996), a poet, multimedia artists, storyteller and translator appeared on the literary scene in the 1970’s. Her literary opus includes three collections of poems, a collection of stories, a collection of essays and two novels. Research has been conducted as some kind of interpretative mimicry of Šalgo’s narrative procedures (more precisely: the narrativization of scientific discourse) which found its theoretical groundings in concepts that originate or are close to the feminist theory: performativity, critical mimesis, nomadism, transgression, a-phonie. The narrative for reading Judita Salgo’s texts is established through an interaction between the terms of Judith Buttler’s theory of subject, the theory of identity of Stuart Hall, the concept of nomadism formulated in the texts of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari and the interpretation of the myth about Narciss and Echo given by G. Ch. Spivak. Within the scope of this interaction the paper interprets some of the Šalgo’s „leading“ themes: „cautious“ identity, programatic homelessness and women continent.
