THE SPACE OF ART AND THE ART OF SPACE

Summary/Abstract: Art and space are the appearances of creative expression in two different fields. Two of them are ways of communication, and they contain within both design and art. The perception of art in the design process and the perception of a design in the art process can not consider separately and independently. A design that is not nourished by art is far from aesthetic like an art that produced separately from design is lack. In contemporary art, the artist’s work is integrated out of its limits from now on by using the space. In this study, it is aimed to look at the space issue as an object of art and as an art that holding and exhibiting the art, which is constantly mentioned in contemporary art. The interaction of art and design fields constitutes interior design itself. There are two sections in the study that approaching these issues separately. In the space of art section, examples of using the space as an art object and in the art of space section, examples of art galleries that holding the art in the space, are given. As a result of this study, in art and design an interdisciplinary interaction is unfolded and in interior design, there is a reflection of contemporary art.
