Gaziantep Geleneksel Erkek Giyimlerinden Aba Ve Aba Yelek Üzerine Bir İnceleme
AN INVESTIGATION ON GAZIANTEP TRADITIONAL MAN SLIENCE CLOTH (ABA) AND SLIENCE CLOTH (ABA) VEST

Summary/Abstract: Slience cloth which has a very important place among the Gaziantep knittings are still alive and contiued to produce via keeping the original format at hand knitting machines. These garment is important because the decoration is done while knitting the slience cloth. In this study, 4 slience cloth and 3 slience cloth vest all of which are wearable and present at Kuva-i Milliye Mücahitler Union and Public Education Center are examined. The examination is carried through observation forms and the interviews with the people who are still wearing these clothes. At the end of the examination the geometric, subjective and herbal ornaments are defined. It is also documented and examined the shape, size and sewing specialities of the garment.
