Summary/Abstract: The focal point of this work is the Italian composer Luciano Berio (1925-2003), one of the most important representatives of 20th-century music, the Sequenza series, each composed for solo instruments between 1958-2002 and common elements between them. Berio proposes that the three parametres underlay the basis of these works. The works must be appreciated through a specific type of listening, which he explained. These works, that contain common properties with each other, in the meantime every one of them has unique characteristics on their own. Therefore our study has targeted to reveal the dominant foreground qualities by using different approaches in order to emphasize the specific character of each Sequenza.
