Summary/Abstract: M. Necati Sepetçioğlu's Çatı (Roof) novel discusses Osman Bey's period of establishment of the Ottoman Empire and tells the stories of the immigrant Turkish tribes getting used to the living conditions in the Bilecik-Söğüt region, where they settled, and their moods during this transition. While the events mentioned in the horizontal plane of the Roof are described, the value system of the Turkish nation in the vertical plane is detected by means of various symbols and concepts. These symbols and concepts, which are revealed by the real structure of the narrative, have been handled and the system of values is explained. It is also aimed to determine the elements forming the novel and the stylistic reasons behind these elements by taking the novel structure into consideration. Then, the psychological and philosophical background of the analysis is illuminated. why this has been tried to be illuminated.
