Summary/Abstract: The headstone of society is family. The foundation of family unity begins with marriage. Marriage is not just for the next generation, but social acceptance and status are also important processes as they mean passing through the approval phase. In this study, wedding traditions will be examined depending on the marriage traditions in the Bozkır region and its villages from the past to the present as regards both lost and still practiced rituals. Bozkır region and its villages have been determined as samples of traditional Turkish weddings. This article has been composed by using tradition, belief and practices as central concepts with folkloric compilation and analysis methodology. The field work we carried out between 2015-16 is based on qualitative research methods. The data were compiled through interview participation and unattended observation methods. There are practices related to mythical beliefs in Turkish weddings. In the sample area we have determined that although society is not aware of the origin of mythological beliefs rooted in still practiced weddings ceremonies, traditions still maintain their existence through the transfer of cultural heritage.
