Summary/Abstract: First of, biennials which organized in 1895 in Venice, have had an important place in international platform and meaning of cultural, artistic and economical during historical process. Artists, countries that wanted have a say in modern art environment and international area, interact with cultur and art while organizing biennials and attending. In this way, countries and artists have found a chance of presentation to their international sense of art in international area. With this design, an international relationship and communication is supplied to introduce different countries’ culture and art in company with our country culture and art to large mass with International Istanbul Biennial organized every other year for exact 30 years by Istanbul Foundation for culture and arts. Together with biennials, all around the World important arists came to our country and Turkish artists have started to was known in international art setting. Biennials have saved to art from get stuck in close place in our country and have changed to exhibition areas. With its of conceptual framework, consist of curator, young generation current artist identity, cultur mobility and shape of exhibition have brought important innovations to Turkish art setting. In this study, it has been discussed to International Istanbul Biennials’ historical process while based on fact of biennial. The study has been gathered as descriptive data while reviewed the literature.
