Summary/Abstract: The present study surveys the possibility of creating cumulative scales of the Mokken type that measure the attitudes towards illegal aliens within a sample comprising nine nations. Initially, a total of 1407 respondents from national and regional Universities took part in screening Scale for illegal aliens including 20 items. The Scales revealed quite acceptable reliability with alpha coefficients ranging from .79 to .93. The applied Procrustes analysis (supporting factotial analysis) yielded congruent coefficients at the previously established three — factorial solution. The measured dispersion varied between 33.1% and 54.4%, thus supporting the presence of another factors in the attitudes toward illegal aliens. The analysis of the Mokken type scale provided strong, reliable and economic scales in two clusters of national samples.
