Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to determine whether the creativity levels and self concept perceptions of art education candidates differed substantially in accordance with their psycho-social characteristics (age, gender, grade level, profession of parents, number and order of siblings, habitat, perception of success, perception of ability, expectations for future, perception of loneliness, social support, domestic state, attitude towards life, romantic relationship with the opposite sex). The work is within the descriptive, relational scanning model. The data was collected with “Individual Status Form”, “Offer Self Image Scale” and “Raudsepp Creativity Scale”. Within the context of psycho-social variables a considerable difference has been observed in art education candidates’ creativity levels by age. According to Mann Whitney-U test results where the creativity points of participants are calculated in terms of independent variables, it has been determined that the creativity points of teacher candidates displayed a significant difference within the loneliness variable (p<.05), whereas it did not display a significant difference in romantic relationship, grade level and gender variables. On the other hand, according to the results of Sperman’s rho test, which shows the relation between the creativity and self-image of participants, it has been concluded that between these points there exists a negative relation which is not high. The fact that the creativity levels of the participants turned out to be high while their self-perception was low has been evaluated within the discussion and conclusion sections with a variety of examples.
