Interview with the Dramaturg Annamária Radnai

Summary/Abstract: Annamária Radnai, the president of the Hungarian Theatre Dramaturgs’ Guild speaks about the freedom of the dramaturg, issues of the director’s prestige, the playwright’s personality and the work around the text. Radnai claims that playwriting has become fashionable inspite of the fact that Hungarian theatrical tradition and dramatic language is fairly young in comparison to the Anglo-Saxon tradition. We can also peak into the activity of the Open Forum, one of the most important platforms of contemporary Hungarian drama.
